1969年公開のデニスホッパー、ピーターフォンダ主演のアメリカンニューシネマの代表作

ピータフォンダ演じるキャプテンアメリカとデニスホッパー演じるビリーがアメリカン
バイクに跨りカルフォルニアへ旅に出るというストーリー。
高校生の頃にワイルドなバイク映画と思って見たのですが、意外な結末にあんぐりした
覚えがあります。アメリカンニューシネマと呼ばれる他の作品「俺たちに明日はない」
「真夜中のカーボーイ」「卒業」なども見た後にハッピーになれる映画ではありませんが
その時代の空気感のようなものが充ちていて、せつなくもたまに見たくなる映画です。
